Are the generations all that different from one another? Do you really need to manage each generation differently in the workplace? We will explore the conventional wisdom of the four generations in the workplace -- their core values, communication styles, feedback preferences, work ethics & leadership styles. And we will end with you talking about your generation.

Please donate! We encourage you to help us support the Marines in the Toys for Tots Campaign. We will be accepting donations & getting them to a donation site as soon as the event is over. The Marines, often with the support of their local community partners, stage toy collections for new & unwrapped toys. These toys are then provided to appropriate agencies (such as local churches, etc.) that identify & distribute these toys to those children in need.

Stephanie Turner – Dir, Diversity & Inclusion
Stephanie E. Turner is the Director of Diversity & Inclusion for Kaiser Permanente’s NW Region. She is responsible for establishing the strategic direction, planning & management of the region’s diversity & inclusion initiatives.
This is Stephanie’s 4th industry as a diversity practitioner, as she has previously worked in the cable broadcasting, telecommunications & oil industries. Prior to Kaiser, Stephanie was the Associate Director of Diversity at ESPN. Stephanie coordinated their company-wide mentoring program, launched and managed their first-ever 8 employee resource groups, and designed and co-facilitated diversity & inclusion workshops for all of their employees.
In her spare time, Ms. Turner serves on the Pacific Northwest Region’s Board of Directors for INROADS, Inc. & is a 2011-2012 Leadership Portland participant. Stephanie enjoys the movies, spas, dining out, an active sports enthusiast & is the treasurer of her family’s investment club. She was born in Bloomington, IN (a real “Hoosier Baby”) & grew up in Lexington, MA. Ms. Turner received her M.S. in Agricultural Economics from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville & her B.A. in Economics from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She & her partner, Charnelle Bryant currently reside in downtown Portland.
Jeff Parker – Workplace Diversity Consultant
Jeff Parker is the Workplace Diversity Consultant for Kaiser Permanente’s NW Region. He is responsible for managing Kaiser Permanente’s Multicultural Business Resource Groups & the Regional Diversity Council ensuring visible support, engagement, execution & accountability in alignment with the diversity & inclusion strategy.
Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Jeff was a diversity practitioner, at Nike in Beaverton, Oregon. He designed and co-facilitated diversity & inclusion workshops for all of their employees. Before joining Nike’s Diversity & Inclusion Team, he supported the Human Resource function as a HRIS Project Manager. In 2003-2008, Jeff was the Co-Chair of one of Nike’s employee affinity groups, where he discovered his passion for diversity & inclusion work. Through his leadership, the group won a national award from Out & Equal Workplace Advocates.
In his spare time, Mr. Parker serves on Out & Equal’s, Portland Regional Affiliate Leadership Council. Jeff enjoys cooking & dining out, and college basketball. He was born in Clinton, Iowa & grew up across the Mississippi River in Albany, Illinois. Mr. Parker received his B.S. in Radio & Television from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He & his partner, Eric Roberts, currently reside in Portland’s, Pearl District. Troy Stone – Workforce Diversity Consultant
Troy Stone is a Workforce Diversity Consultant for Kaiser Permanente’s NW Region. He is responsible for developing regional diversity & inclusion learning curricula and facilitating education.
Troy has incorporated diversity work into several past positions. As a Case Manager for the State of Oregon, Troy became a member of the Diversity Committee which assisted with its diversity education for State employees. He participated in the employment selection process to ensure diverse candidates were fairly represented. While working for Aetna, Troy was a founding member of a Diversity Council.
Since joining Kaiser Permanente, Troy has held a variety of positions, including serving as a Unit Based Team Co-Lead & union steward. In addition to his current position with Diversity & Inclusion, he also serves as a committee member for Kaiser Permanente’s Safety Net Partnership group.
Troy is a dedicated father to his son, Gilbert. He & his partner, Jorge, are passionate about cooking, dining out, going to the movies & dancing to house and hip-hop music. Troy is currently taking steps toward his goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.
